Day 2 London

And here are some pictures from our day of London today.

Most of today was spent at the British Museum (which my camera conveniently decided to die on me, so I don't have many pictures) and the Tower of London.  We had a Yeoman Warden guided tour. Which was awesome. He told us stories about just about everything from the tower.
This is a memorial for those who were beheaded in the private section of the Tower. I believe he said only 6 were executed here, including Lady Jane Grey and Queen Ann Boleyn.
This was a neat little legend.  According to Geoffrey of Monmouth, if there were no ravens in the Tower of London, the White Tower will crumble, the monarch cease to exist and a huge disaster would strike all of Europe. So, even to this day, they keep a minimum of 6 ravens. These were the wild ones, but they do have some in cages by the front part of the Tower.
This is Traitors Gate. All those who were brought in to the Tower in secret came in this way.
This is the site where all the public executions took place.  Maybe not right on the dot there, but in this general area at least.
And one of the last sites of the day, before it started to rain too much, is Big Ben! We couldn't leave the Tower of London without this site. It was really close Westminister Abby so we stopped and took pictures.
