We Made It!

We made it to the UK! Pretty tired, I don't think the plane was the best place to try to sleep last night. Although, back home, it's just about 5 in the morning. That might also have something to do with it. But, since it is noon, I think we are going to try to catch a bite to eat in a bit and get some sight seeing in. We are staying at the Rembrandt hotel and the Museum of Natural History is right across the street, along with two other museums.

The trip here was interesting.  First flight, not to bad. Second flight, after delays, was torture, when I just wanted a real bed.  And not to mention a neighbor who had a habit of trying to push all his stuff into my seat.  The driver that picked us up in London was crazy but awesome.  He was very talkative about the things to see.  Apparently, in London, you don't slow down at a cross walk. You stop once you get to it, not a moment before. I might not be too excited to try out the crosswalks later.

*Edit: Wouldn't let me post yesterday, so this next part is of Day 2 in London*

I have learned a few truths about London is the small time period we've been here.  It has a ton of history (obviously) but everything is taken care of. We went to the Tower of London today. They have preserved as much as possible instead of just tearing it down for another parking lot. Or whatever else they might want to build. Another truth, London is dirty. It might have some great sites to go see, but it isn't a very clean city. On the walk back to the hotel we saw trash heaps on the side walk waiting for pick up and unless you are walking by a restaurant (which there are so many!) it stinks.  Another, reaffirmed from yesterday, the drivers are crazy!  And the final truth learned today, the subway is the gateway to the city.  They have several lines running all over the city. We are currently in zone 2 and so we only needed a zone 1 & 2 pass. But it goes up to 6.  And it's relatively cheap for a day pass. 7 quid (pounds for those of you not London savvy) bought us a day pass and we've used it so much today going to different areas. It was a good idea.

I am backing up the sd cards while I can, so I hope to be able to post a few good pics in a post right after this one!
